Biography

Sandra Chreim, OTD, OTR/L is the Academic Fieldwork Coordinator and Assistant Professor in the Occupational Therapy Program at Barry University. She earned her BA in Education with a minor in Business Administration from Florida Atlantic University in 2011, her MS in Occupational Therapy in 2016, and her Doctor of Occupational Therapy (OTD) from Barry University in 2020. She is a National Board-Certified Occupational Therapist (NBCOT) and a member of American Occupational Therapy Association (AOTA).

Dr. Chreim is responsible for coordinating Level I and Level II fieldwork experiences for occupational therapy students, maintaining clinical partnerships, and supporting students in their transition from the classroom to practice. She is committed to fostering academic-clinical collaboration and aligning placements that promote professional growth and student success. She also contributes to teaching in the areas of clinical reasoning, functional rehabilitation, and evidence-based practice across both pediatric and adult populations.

Her clinical background includes experience in acute care, inpatient rehabilitation, outpatient pediatrics, and educational environments. In addition to her academic role, she maintains an entrepreneurial presence by providing occupational therapy services within school-based practice, with the capacity to coordinate physical therapy services as needed.

Dr. Chreim’s scholarly and clinical interests include post-surgical rehabilitation, pediatric school-based occupational therapy, and the application of evidence-based practice to support functional recovery and independence following acute and chronic illness or injury. She is a military spouse and the mother of three children.
