Award Amount

The award covers direct costs after accounting for financial aid.

Selection Criteria

To be considered for this scholarship, you must meet all of the following criteria:

  • Academic Standing: The recipient must have a minimum cumulative high school GPA of 3.0. Upon enrollment, the student must maintain a cumulative GPA of 2.5 throughout their academic career.
  • Credit Hours and Graduation Requirement: To maintain eligibility for continued scholarship funding, recipients must complete at least 12 credits per semester and graduate within 9 semesters of their enrollment at Barry University.
  • Financial Aid Eligibility: The recipient must be eligible for federal financial aid as determined by the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) or Financial Support Form.
  • Provide documentation of completing a minimum of 75 service hours during high school.
  • Submit a 500–750 word essay explaining what inspired you to pursue a career in education and why you believe you are a strong candidate for this scholarship.

Application Period

  • The application opens October 1.
  • The deadline is April 1.
  • Notifications will be made by May 1.
  • The scholarship may be awarded to two students.

The scholarship committee will verify your admission status, high school GPA, and financial need with our Department of Recruitment and Admissions.
